The Jack Russell Terrier Club of Canada was formed in 1989. We welcome all Jack Russell Terrier admirers and owners of this versatile dog. Our interests range from showing, to hunting, to breeding but we all share a love of this most loyal companion and best friend! Read about the kind of fun you and your dog can have in the Events handbook. Come out to promote the breed, or attend a fun day or trial.

Dedication

We are dedicated to showcasing our amazing Jack Russell Terriers competing in events such as conformation, racing, lure-coursing, go-to-ground, super earth, barn hunt, brush hunt, high jump, agility, trailing and location and ball retrieval showcasing a terrier's intelligence and physical abilities.

Principles

Our guiding principle is to promote the breed's historical conformation while keeping the working ability in the forefront. In other words, our goal is that the Jack Russell Terrier should remain a bright, alert, well rounded dog, with the form, endurance and drive to go to ground after their quarry.

High Standard

Showing conformation rewards breeders whose terriers meet our highest breed standard-these are standards which emphasize the health and true working abilities of the breed.

Our Club

Our Club is made up of a large group of volunteers who share a love of our dogs and sport alike. Collectively, we have a wealth of experience as trial organizers, participants, judges and volunteers at many of the trials, fun days and training events held throughout Ontario.

Events

Our events attract people from all walks of life and varied backgrounds encompassing all age groups.

Tips and Tricks

Our season will see more Fun Days - in response to member's feedback highlighting the need to spend more time with new and potential future members who are unsure of the events we host. Come and learn tips and tricks and bring out the natural instincts in these wonderful little dogs. Please come out and join in the fun with your terrier!
